The Raptor is becoming a popular ping pong paddle for the advanced players out there. Before digging deep, here’s a quick look at its specification.

The stiga is a pre-made paddle and consists of 7 ply from which 5 are balsa wood layers and 2 carbon layers. The 2 carbon layers keep the paddle lightweight but allows you to generate a lot of speed and power. As we discussed in the previous Stiga paddles, this paddle is no different.

It uses the same WRB technology as other Stiga paddles which basically means that the handle remains hollow to absorb the shock waves produced when the ball is struck giving you more control. 

The rubbers present on the both sides are the premium Stiga S5 and are perfectly crafted with the Stiga’s Nano Composite technology and ACS technology in which the fibers are much more stronger compared to the normal rubber providing you with a lot more control.

The sponge layer beneath the rubbers and the blade is around 2mm thick which helps the ball to fall off quickly from the face of the paddle giving you extra spin. This is really helpful for all the aggressive players out there but definitely not suitable for beginners.

Moreover, the Stiga Raptor is also ITTF approved so you can head to tournament level play with this paddle. In fact, this paddle handles really really well with their so called “Concave Pro Handle”, the grip is outstanding.

While playing, it was very fast and we were able to generate a lot of spin with this paddle. If you’re an intermediate player and really want to  win most of your ping pong games, then this is the paddle for you. 

On the other hand, this paddle is not recommended for the beginners due to its high speed performance which can be overwhelming and uncontrollable for the beginner players but ideal for the intermediate players. 

Moreover, the downside of the paddle is that the logo pops off after a good amount of use which we definitely didn’t expect from a high quality paddle but a glue can easily fix it.

One more is the price which is very expensive considering that this is a pre-made paddle. However, we can expect the prices to be lowered as it becomes more popular. 

Summing up, if you’re looking for a paddle that would pump up your game then we are really happy with the performance of this Raptor and highly recommend it. If you’re a beginner then you might have to reconsider your choice with a pretty neat and stable rating of speed.
