I have been a fan of Foosball since I saw the Foosball table in Joey and Chandler’s room in Friends. The table is made of the highest-quality maple wood with an espresso finish. It looks like an elegant coffee-table. The surface is glossy and smooth, and the dark colors make it go well with almost any décor.

The players are another beautiful feature of this table; unlike others, the players here are dressed in striped white-and green rugby uniforms. The color contrasts nicely with the rich body of the table, increasing the elegance of this table. The players are also counterbalanced, enabling you to play a fast-paced game.
The Carlyle has telescopic, chrome-finish stainless-steel rods. They are fixed in a way that gives the player complete control over the movement of the rods and perfectly smooth game experience. The rods also have maple wood handles that are designed to fit the players’ hands perfectly.
The table is made from actual wood, so it’s a heavy-weight table. The legs of the table have also been designed to give the table added-strength and stability. Tornado usually only makes Foosball tables for championships and professional arenas. However, the Tornado Sport is their recreational design. It is the least expensive Tornado table, but it is still quite expensive by recreational standards.
Let’s talk about the make of this table first; Tornado Sport is made of the highest-quality manufactured with a melamine finish. The table is finished in a rich mahogany color, which gives it a beautiful exterior.
I’ll be honest, I am a bit disappointed that Tornado has not used real wood to make this table. In this price bracket, Tornado could have delivered original wood instead of melamine. That said, the melamine is of good quality, and users say that they have gotten years of play out of their Tornados.
Another good feature is the box levelers, which this table boasts; it allows to increase Hight as well as leveling the playing surface without taking away from the aesthetics of the table. The rods are also pretty standard; high-quality hollow stainless steel, but they have plastic handles. Although Tornado claims that the plastic is of good quality, I am not impressed. In this price range, wooden handles would have been more appropriate.
Somehow, this table is heavier than the American Heritage Billiards Carlyle. At 230 pounds, this table won’t ever budge no matter how fast and rough a game you play. Other features include manual scorer, automatic ball-return, and a 3-goalie format. This table does not have cup-holders.

The Valley-Dynamo is another recreational Foosball table by Tornado. This table is more expensive than the Tornado Sport, but it does come with some premium features. However, first, let’s address my disappointment over the fact that once again, Tornado has used MDF to make this table.

In this price range, a good quality wood will be appreciated by users, but Tornado has a weird affinity for MDF.
That said, the MDF is of the highest quality, and it is 1 1/2″ thick. The table is manufactured with skilled workmanship, so the table has a durable and reliable structure. The table is strengthened and beautified by a Victorian Cherry laminate finish.
To my joy, the Tornado Elite has original wood handles in a natural finish rather than the plastic ones in Tornado Sport. These handles are attached to stainless steel hollow telescopic rods that are easy to play with. Another feature that appeals to me is the commercial-grade leg-levelers on this table. They not only look pretty, but they work great as well! You will never have to worry about a lopsided playing surface with the Tornado Elite. The fast-spinning rods also support counter-balanced players with hatchback toes.
Apart from that, the table has a manual scorer, 4-cup holders, and an automatic ball-return.
One thing I don’t like about this table is the design. Don’t get me wrong; the cherry laminate cabinet looks beautiful, but the boxy design of the table is completely against my style. Secondly, the ball cup doesn’t have any embellishments or trimmings. It looks like a gaping hole in the middle of the table.
So, the verdict is that if you like a rustic looking Foosball table, then the Valley-Dynamo is an awesome choice. This table is very, very durable, I have friends who have owned this table for years without a scratch on the surface. This table is not fancy, but it offers good construction, a solid build, and features that will make sure that you have a good Foosball game. It is made in Texas, so you will be supporting the local industry too!
